Ship your home movie videotapes, 8mm & 16mm films, audio cassettes, photos, slides and much more to Digital Memory Media! We will professionally digitize all of your cherished memories. Any and all formats accepted. You may begin by preparing your memories for shipment with our form below.

***Please Note***

All video tape and film transfers are done as a one to one transfer to DVD.

For example, one film reel will be transferred to one DVD, two tapes will be transferred to two DVDs.

Slide, photo, and album transfers all go on separate data CDs

For example, 1,500 slides will all fit on a data CD, but we can not put slides and photos together on the same CD.  Each category gets its own separate data CD

8mm & 16mm Film

3 inch reel

  • Prior to digitizing, each film reel is cleaned from start to finish using Anti-Stat Film Cleaner to remove and dirt or grime that has accumulated on the film over the many years since it was produced.
  • From there it is mounted onto our film capture device, which captures the entire reel, one frame at a time, to provide ultra smooth and crystal clear playback.
    • 16mm Film Capture Device – Sniper 16 HD
    • 8mm Film Capture Devices – Dual Video 8 Sniper HDL & Retro 8
  • Once digitized, the mov files are edited in our editing software where we color restore, crop, and edit all footage to give the customer an enjoyable and pleasurable viewing experience from start to end. All blank areas, jumpy areas, etc.are removed.
  • Most 8mm reels do not have sound. In a rare case that a reel does have sound, we cannot capture that sound from the reel. However, we are able to capture all sound off of any 16mm film that we digitize.

Photos

Slides

  • Slides can be scanned as either jpegs or tiff files
  • Upon receiving slides, they are first cleaned to help remove any dust that may be on the slide
  • Once cleaned, the slides are then scanned using Epson Perfection V700 Photo or Epson Expression 11000XL scanners.
  • The standard dpi (dots per inch) that we scan slides at is 1200 dpi.
  • While scanning, our software color restores each and every slide, to make each slide look like the photo was taken yesterday.
  • Once scanned, the jpeg or tiff file of the slide is then edited. We rotate and crop each image, to give the perfect picture. Each image is then color restored a second time, to bring back more color.
  • Upon editing, we run each image through our dust and scratch removal tool, to remove any more dust or scratches that may appear on the image.
  • Once all of the editing is complete, the slide scanning process is over, and we are left with crystal clear jpeg or tiff files for the slides.
  • From there, we create a DVD slideshow (see below for DVD rates and descriptions)
